Stardew Valley turned ten and quietly expanded its dating pool, with two long-requested romances finally confirmed.
The news arrived as ConcernedApe celebrated the game’s 10th anniversary on February 26. Conversation swirled around the long-teased 1.7 update, announced last year but stubbornly short on specifics. Fans combed through every scrap of information about possible marriage candidates, and during the anniversary livestream, he finally drew back the curtain.
Stardew Valley 1.7 confirms Clint and Sandy as new marriage options
At the end of the livestream, ConcernedApe revealed that update 1.7 will make Clint and Sandy fully marriageable.
Clint has worked as Pelican Town’s blacksmith since launch in 2016, upgrading tools and opening geodes while nursing an unresolved crush on Emily. His awkward arc became a running topic in the community, with many players arguing he deserved a clearer storyline.
Sandy, who manages the Oasis in the Calico Desert, entered the game once players repaired the bus. She rarely leaves her shop, which limited interactions, yet her friendly demeanor earned steady support in fan polls.
Both characters previously ranked high in community requests, and their addition answers a long-standing call for broader romance options. Version 1.7 will also introduce a new farm type and adjustments to children, though no release date has been announced.
