Valve’s Steam Deck is getting a price increase in parts of Asia, with new pricing set to take effect in early March through its regional retail partner Komodo Station.
Komodo Station, the authorized Steam Deck retailer for Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, announced on Friday, February 27, that prices for the handheld will rise starting March 6, 2026. The change impacts both the 512GB and 1TB models across all three markets.
In Japan, the 512GB Steam Deck will increase from JPY 84,800 to JPY 99,800, while the 1TB model will move from JPY 99,800 to JPY 114,800, around the $100 USD mark for both models.
South Korea and Taiwan will also see price adjustments, though the largest jumps are in the Japanese market.
Price changes arrive as Steam Deck OLED faces stock issues
The pricing update comes as Valve continues to face supply constraints in other regions, including the United States. On February 17, the Steam Deck OLED went out of stock on Valve’s official storefront.
At the time, Valve added a notice stating: “Steam Deck OLED may be out of stock intermittently in some regions due to memory and storage shortages.”
The disclaimer suggests broader supply chain challenges tied to component availability, which could be affecting regional pricing and inventory management.
Komodo Station’s announcement confirms the new pricing will begin on March 6, with adjusted costs applied across Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. Valve has not announced similar price increases for other territories at the time of writing.
