The Steam Deck is appearing as out of stock for multiple regions as Valve issues a statement blaming “memory and storage shortages.”

RAM has been a contentious topic recently, following massive shortages and a major increase in its price as a result of its use for AI. This has prompted fans to be concerned about future console gen releases being delayed, current consoles increasing in price, and certain items being out of stock intermittently as companies fight to get the right resources for their product.

Well, the Steam Deck is the latest victim of the RAM shortages, with Valve releasing a statement warning fans that the popular handheld may be out of stock in multiple regions.

Sharing their statement on the Steam Deck page, Valve wrote: “Steam Deck OLED may be out of stock intermittently in some regions due to memory and storage shortages. Steam Deck LCD 256GB is no longer in production, and once sold out, will no longer be available.”

It was announced back in December that the LCD version would be wound down, but it appears the OLED will be equally as hard to get, with different countries reporting the handheld completely out of stock on the Steam Deck website.

The USA is experiencing major problems with its stock, with many users revealing that the OLED is completely out of stock in the US. At the time of writing, the Steam Deck remains available in the UK.

Of course, Valve has explained that the issues will be intermittent, so it’s not expected to be out of stock for long as Valve works to provide the handheld to as many fans as they can.
