A Twitch streamer has just gone viral for catching her PC component melting on camera while in the middle of a game.

For Twitch streamer ‘Jessick’, what was supposed to be a normal Marvel Rivals gaming session turned into a rather scary situation real quick. A recording of the streamer catching her PC component melting in real-time has just gone viral.

According to Tom’s Hardware, the issue appears to involve an RTX 4090, specifically its 16-pin power connector.

In the clip, smoke can be seen coming from the connector as the streamer zooms in on her hardware, with the damage going far enough that the copper underneath is visible.

Incidents involving RTX 4090 power connectors aren’t exactly new, but what really caught viewers’ attention was how the situation played out. The clip was shared on her social media with the caption, “wtf do i do?”

As the smoke continued, Jessick asked, “Guys, is this bad? Or is this fine?” before adding that it smelled “really bad.”

Even with visible smoke, the rest of the system continued running. At one point, she showed her screen, revealing that she was still in the middle of a Marvel Rivals match while the issue was ongoing.

Naturally, it didn’t take too long before this post blew up on social media. Many in the replies were clearly concerned and urged her to shut everything down, while others jumped in with suggestions on what might help.

One user suggested shutting things down and buying a new cable, as well as making sure the air flow isn’t blocked.

“When the new cable is in, figure out why your video card is overheating (probably overclocked) fix that. Run diag and temp tests. If it’s still overheating and burning the cable, get another new cable with a new video card. If that doesn’t work, get a new PC,” they added.

Of course, once a post goes viral, not every reaction stays serious. Some users just couldn’t resist making jokes about the situation, including one who replied, “I heard this fixes everything,” alongside an image of duct tape.
