Is Robert Pattinson’s Batman in Superman? A leaked track from the movie’s score has fans convinced he’s going to show up – but there’s something you should know.

Speculation about the future of Pattinson’s caped crusader has been rampant ever since James Gunn and Peter Safran unveiled their first DCU slate. Gunn has repeatedly insisted that Matt Reeves’ film and any sequels will be “Elseworlds” projects and not part of the main continuity.

He’s also said that it’s “not the plan” to fold Pattinson into the DCU. However, what if… he’s lying? David Zaslav earlier expressed concerns about multiple Batmen, and The Hollywood Reporter cast doubt over The Brave and the Bold’s existence.

Ahead of Superman’s release, there’s been plenty of debate about whether or not Pattinson’s Batman should join the DCU. However, even including Superman, it remains to be seen if it’ll ever happen.

Sorry, but Robert Pattinson’s Batman isn’t in Superman

Robert Pattinson’s Batman doesn’t appear in Superman, nor is there any sort of cameo or hint regarding his presence in the DCU.

Admittedly, the leaked track (via DCU Superman News from the world premiere) has the vibe of Pattinson’s Dark Knight; slow, moody bass notes evoking the feel of Michael Giacchino’s score.

The 39-second audio clip has over 12 million views and thousands of quote-tweets either getting excited about a crossover with Pattinson’s Batman or admitting that it’s delusional to make that connection.

One user joked: “The quotes serve as proof we as a collective people are getting more and more insane.”

“I’m huffing so much Battinson copium right now,” another wrote. “Is this the theme of who I think it is???” a third user asked.

“F**k continuity give me my World’s Finest,” a fourth wrote. “THERE’S NO F**KING WAY THIS IS COINCIDENTAL,” a fifth posted.

To be clear, Pattinson is not in Superman. The movie does not have any references to Batman; that includes Pattinson’s Batman or the (alleged) other Batman that will be introduced in the DCU.

Here’s what we do know: Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin turned in the finished script for The Batman Part 2, and Gunn told reporters at the premiere that it’s “great.”
