Taco Bell is introducing a new twist on one of its most iconic drinks, launching Mountain Dew Baja Midnight nationwide on August 14. The purple-hued beverage is the first permanent expansion of the Mountain Dew Baja Blast flavor in its 20-year history.
Baja Midnight blends the familiar tropical lime taste of Baja Blast with passion fruit for a new take on the cult classic. It will be available exclusively at Taco Bell as a fountain drink, alongside a limited-time Baja Midnight Freeze. Prices start at $2.49 for a small drink and $3.79 for a regular Freeze.
First Baja Blast flavor expansion in two decades
Since its debut in 2004, Baja Blast has been a staple on Taco Bell’s menu and has developed a devoted following. The launch of Baja Midnight marks the first time the chain has permanently expanded the drink’s flavor profile.
While Midnight is the first new flavor Taco Bell has launched, it’s not the first Baja Blast-related item the fast-food giant has released in recent years.
Back in 2024, the chain partnered with Stanley to launch a drink-themed cup featuring the “20th Bajaversary” logo to celebrate 20 years of having the drink at Taco Bell.
