A teacher in Japan has helping students come to grips with the English language by using Hideo Kojima’s P.T. as the learning material.
Long before Silent Hill f, there was P.T., which is short for “Playable Teaser.” It was released over ten years ago and created by Hideo Kojima as essentially a sneak peek for what would’ve been a project called Silent Hills.
Ultimately, the project was cancelled not long after, and P.T. was pulled from the PlayStation Store, making it nearly impossible to access today.
Some might not remember it, and newer horror game fans might’ve completely missed it. Though that’s not the case for one teacher in Japan, who actually used P.T. as part of a classroom lesson to teach students English.

The lesson took place entirely in English at Niigata Prefectural Tsunan Secondary School on October 22, 2025.
According to the school’s website, students got to practice “realistic English conversation” by progressing through the game and reading out simple, everyday actions, such as “taking a stroll,” “walking around the room,” and “answering the phone.”
During the activity, the teacher would pause the demo at certain moments and ask students which action they wanted to take next.
Naturally, being part of the Silent Hill franchise, there were a few good scares. The school blog mentioned that some students were “startled” when the in-game phone suddenly rang. Still, even with the creepy atmosphere, everyone seemed to have fun and “experienced the joy of using English.”
Despite P.T. never turning into a full game, following the success of Silent Hill f and Silent Hill 2 remake, it’s clear that the team is pushing to revive the franchise.
