From Lanterns and Euphoria to Blade Runner 2099 and Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, these are the most anticipated TV shows of 2026.

2025 gave us some of the best television in the history of the medium, with Dexerto’s best TV shows of the year including Severance, Andor, and Adolescence.

In 2026, every genre imaginable is being served, from the comedy of Ted Lasso, the action of One Piece, and the drama of Euphoria, to the superhero stylings of Wonder Man, Lanterns, The Boys, and Spider-Noir.

So these are the shows we’ll be bingeing all next year, listed from 15-to-1.

15. One Piece

  • Season: 2
  • Channel: Netflix
  • Release date: March 10, 2026
  • Cast: Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, Taz Skylar

What it’s about: Subtitled ‘Into the Grand Line,’ Season 2 of One Piece sees Luffy and co sail across that treacherous stretch of sea, and visit Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, and Little Garden.

Why we’re excited: The first season of One Piece achieved the seemingly unachievable, by nailing a live-action version of the wild animation. Season 2 looks to be both bigger and better, featuring prehistoric dinosaurs, very big giants, and even an action sequence that plays out in the belly of a whale.

14. Ted Lasso

  • Season: 4
  • Channel: Apple TV
  • Release date: TBD
  • Cast: Jason Sudeikis, Juno Temple, Hannah Waddingham

What it’s about: Ted Lasso is back, but this time he’s coaching A.F.C. Richmond’s second division women’s team.

Why we’re excited: As well as being one of the funniest sitcoms of the last few years, Ted Lasso was also the loveliest, and that feel-good factor should crossover into this unexpected Season 4, which will doubtless tackle sexism in the game, while delivering more laughter and life lessons.

13. Wonder Man

  • Season: 1
  • Channel: Disney+
  • Release Date: January 27, 2026
  • Cast: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Ben Kingsley, X Mayo

What it’s about: Actor Simon Williams auditions to play superhero Wonder Man, while at the same time possessing superpowers of his own.

Why we’re excited: We’re excited about this one because Ben Kingsley is back as failed actor Trevor Slattery, who was the funniest character in the Iron Man movies, and maybe all of the MCU. We’re also intrigued as footage released so far suggests Wonder Man is just as much entertainment industry satire as superhero story.

12. Young Sherlock

  • Season: 1
  • Channel: Prime Video
  • Release Date: TBD
  • Cast: Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Joseph Fiennes, Colin Firth

What it’s about: Based on Andrew Lane’s beloved book series, Young Sherlock revolves around an inexperienced 19-year-old Holmes investigating a murder at Oxford University.

Why we’re excited: Director Guy Ritchie made two superb Sherlock Holmes movies, and with that franchise stalling, we’re excited to see what he does with a young version of the character on the small-screen. Expect twists, turns, and the kind of quick-fire action that has become Ritchie’s trademark.

11. Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale

  • Season: 1
  • Channel: Hulu
  • Release Date: TBD
  • Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Faly Rakotohavana, Jack Cutmore-Scott

What it’s about: The premise is in the title of this one, which is set 25 years after the original Buffy series, and a continuation of that story rather than a reboot.

Why we’re excited: Buffy the Vampire Slayer revolutionised TV when it launched in 1997, delivering kick-ass action and horror, while revolving around a relatable character who became a feminist icon. This new iteration is written by Lilla and Nora Zuckerman, whose credits include Poker Face, Fringe, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., while we can’t wait to see what Eternals helmer Chloé Zhao does with the material.

10. VisionQuest

  • Season: 1
  • Channel: Disney+
  • Release Date: TBD
  • Cast: Paul Bettany, James Spader, Todd Stashwick

What it’s about: Vision was killed in Avengers: Infinity War, then resurrected in WandaVision, when his memories were restored – VisionQuest sees him trying to make sense of those recollections.

Why we’re excited: WandaVision is arguably the best of the Marvel TV shows, so we’re excited to see how Vision’s tragic story plays out in this spinoff. There’s also the added bonus of James Spader returning as the diabolical Ultron, with the actor deserving a second chance after the undercooked disappointment of his Avengers movie.

9. Industry

  • Season: 4
  • Channel: HBO/BBC
  • Release Date: January 11, 2026
  • Cast: Myha’la, Marisa Abel, Ken Leung

What it’s about: A group of graduates at London’s Pierpoint & Co investment bank continue to compete in the cutthroat world of finance.

Why we’re excited: Each season of Industry has been better than the last, and just as the show has improved, so its audience has grown, with the series now one of HBO and the BBC’s biggest hits. Harry Lawty’s Robert Spearing is absent from Season 4, which is frustrating as that character had fast become the beating heart of the show. But his absence is balanced out by the likes of Charlie Heaton, Max Minghella, Kiernan Shipka, and Kal Penn joining the electric ensemble.

8. The Boys

  • Season: 5
  • Channel: Prime Video
  • Release Date: April 8, 2025
  • Cast: Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Anthony Starr

What it’s about: The Boys Season 5 kicks off with Homelander all-powerful, Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie imprisoned in a ‘Freedom Camp,’ and Butcher considering using a virus that will wipe out all Supes, meaning “a reckoning is coming.”

Why we’re excited: It’s all been building towards the fifth and final season of The Boys, and showrunner Eric Kripke has promised an apocalyptic climax, so we’re looking forward to seeing what that means exactly. While the big question is how can our heroes possibly put an end to Homelander? On May 20 – when the series finale drops – we should get an answer.

7. Crystal Lake

  • Season: 1
  • Channel: Peacock
  • Release Date: TBD
  • Cast: Linda Cardellini, Callum Vinson, William Catlett, Briana Brooks

What it’s about: Crystal Lake is a prequel to the Friday the 13th movies, centered on Jason Voorhees’ mother Pamela.

Why we’re excited: Details are scarce for this one beyond the series delving into Jason’s past, though showrunner Brad Caleb Kane told EW this tantalising Crystal Lake tidbit: “It’s a psychological thriller. It’s a paranoid ’70s thriller. It has all of the DNA of a slasher without quite being a slasher. There are rivers of blood in the show. There are very, I think, ingenious kill sequences and deaths and murders, but it’s all done in service of character and theme and place and time.” Can’t wait!

6. Spider-Noir

  • Season: 1
  • Channel: MGM+/Prime Video
  • Release Date: TBD
  • Cast: Nicolas Cage, Brendan Gleeson, Lamorne Morri

What it’s about: A private investigator with superpowers confronts demons from his past in an alternate version of 1930s New York.

Why we’re excited: Nicolas Cage previously voiced Spider-Man Noir, and now we’ll finally get to the his live-action take on the character via this multiverse tale. We’re expecting intriguing mystery and film noir tropes, all captured in crisp black-and-white, which should set the show apart from rival superhero fare.

5. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

  • Season: 1
  • Channel: HBO
  • Release Date: January 18, 2026
  • Cast: Peter Claffey, Dexter Soll Ansell, Finn Bennett

What it’s about: Two unlikely heroes – Ser Duncan the Tall, and his young esquire Egg – journey across Westeros at a time when the Targaryens still sit on the Iron Throne.

Why we’re excited: Game of Thrones always delivers, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms serves as a prequel to the original series, set a century before those events. And while the OG show was epic in size and scale, this promises to be a more intimate tale, focusing on the beloved characters of Dunk and Egg.

4. Lanterns

  • Season: 1
  • Channel: HBO
  • Release Date: TBD
  • Cast: Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald, Nathan Fillion

What it’s about: Experienced intergalactic peacekeeper Hal Jordan shows new Green Lantern recruit John Stewart the ropes while they investigate a murder that sheds light on a larger conspiracy.

Why we’re excited: James Gunn’s DCU got off to a solid start with his Superman movie, which connects to Lanterns via Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner. So expect to see broad humor again dovetailing with more serious drama, while the series will be straddling genres by merging the superhero stuff with hard sci-fi, all wrapped in a detective story. If done right, that could be a winning combination.

3. Euphoria

  • Season: 3
  • Channel: HBO
  • Release Date: April 2026
  • Cast: Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer

What it’s about: Plot details are being kept under wraps, but we do know that Euphoria Season 3 starts with Rue trying to pay off her drug debt in Mexico, and Cassie addicted to social media while living in the suburbs with her fiancé Nate.

Why we’re excited: Because we’re finally getting the third – and doubtless last – season of the most shocking, exciting, and innovative drama on TV. Showrunner Sam Levinson has somehow managed to reassemble the entire cast, in spite of their newly minted movie star status, while during a recent HBO presentation, he promised “the best season yet.”

2. Daredevil: Born Again

  • Season: 2
  • Channel: Disney+
  • Release Date: March 4, 2025
  • Cast: Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Margarita Levieva

What it’s about: Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again sees Matt Murdock assembling allies to do battle with Mayor Wilson Fisk, and the Anti-Vigilante Task Force he commands.

Why we’re excited: Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again was very much about grief, with characters coming to terms with that surprise death. Season 2 appears to revolve around revenge, as Matt Murdock leads the resistance against Kingpin, with help from his Defender buddy Jessica Jones. A war is coming to the streets of New York, and we can’t wait to see how it plays out.

1. Blade Runner 2099

  • Season: 1
  • Channel: Prime Video
  • Release Date: TBD
  • Cast: Michelle Yeoh, Hunter Schafer, Tom Burke

What it’s about: A Replicant coming to the end of her life partners with a human who is trying to secure a stable future for her brother following a life spent on the run.

Why we’re excited: The incredible world-building in Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 continues in this small-screen sequel, and with real-world AI advancing apace, 2099 couldn’t be more timely.

Ridley Scott has been developing this one from the beginning, and says the show “circles the idea of Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World,” while studio Amazon promised it will “uphold the intellect, themes, and spirit of its film predecessors.”

So we’re preparing ourselves jaw-dropping deign and visuals, in service of a story that examines themes of identity, consciousness, memory, and what it means to be a machine.
