Marvel fans who prefer standalone graphic novels to monthly comics have a new outlet in Abrams ComicArts' Marvel Arts line. Abrams has just released its latest Marvel graphic novel, a gorgeously rendered, Silver Age-inspired book called The Avengers in the Veracity Trap!

Check out the slideshow gallery below for an exclusive preview of The Avengers in the Veracity Trap!, along with exclusive creator commentary from artist Michael Cho:

The Avengers in the Veracity Trap! is written by Chip Kidd and illustrated by Cho. This 64-page hardcover book is priced at $25.99. Here's Abrams' official description of the book:

The Avengers in The Veracity Trap begins with an epic battle in Asgard, as Loki, the god of mischief, comes into possession of a weapon of unimaginable power and assembles an army of otherworldly monsters in an effort to carry out his evil plans. Cue the Avengers—Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Giant-Man, and the Wasp—who meet this horrifying throng of beasts head-on as a thrilling, knock-down drag-out fight ensues.

But when the smoke clears, what appears to be a typically raucous comic book take-down is revealed to be something very, very different—and very, very terrifying. This discovery threatens to destroy the Avengers in a way that Loki or any other foe never has before. Because this time the enemy is . . . the Truth.

"I’ve always loved the Avengers," Cho tells IGN. "Their tagline is 'Earth’s Mightiest Heroes!' and for me, as kid, that was all I needed to know to buy the comic. I loved Cap and Iron Man already, and to see them with Thor, Hulk and Giant-Man and Wasp? I was all the way in. Although I love many different iterations of the Avengers (shout out to the Beast and Wonder Man), the OG Avengers will always be the standard to me. Hence, I was over the moon to draw this book."

The Avengers in the Veracity Trap! is available in comic shops and bookstores now. You can order a copy on Amazon.
