If you figured Amazon Prime Day would be a good time of year to upgrade your gaming laptop, then you guessed correctly. Surprisingly however, Amazon isn't necessarily the best retailer with the best Prime Day gaming laptop deals. I've rounded up the best laptop deals I've seen so far and these include some pretty incredible price drops from the likes of HP (Omen), Dell (Alienware), and Walmart alongside Amazon. Frankly, some of these prices seem almost too good to be true, but rest assured all of these retailers are absolutely legitimate.

New for 2025, the Area-51 is Alienware's highest end gaming laptop, which means it boasts the best build quality and the highest performance. It features an all-metal body with an magnesium alloy chassis and upgraded cooling to tackle the latest and greatest heat generating components, including more fans and bigger cutouts enabling greater airflow, generous use of copper, and a new thermal interface material to better transfer heat away from the core components. Dell claims that the laptop can handle a higher power ceiling of up to 240W TDP without raising acoustics.

Design-wise, the Area 51 accentuates its smooth contours, with rounded edges and soft corners replacing the squared off design you'd see in most other laptops. The hinges are also mostly internally positioned so that they're near invisible. As befits an Alienware laptop, there are ample customization options for RGB LED lighting.

Asus' new 2025 lineup of ROG Strix G16 laptops now feature the latest Intel Core Ultra Arrow Lake-S processors and Nvidia Blackwell GPUs. In terms of build quality, it is similar to its predecessors. The laptops are built with a plastic composite body and metal lid for durability and aesthetics. The cooling system keeps noise levels down during intense gaming and Asus uses liquid metal instead of standard thermal compound for heat transfer. The ROG Strix G16 can be equipped with up to an RTX 5080 GPU with an unthrottled 175W of TGP for maximum performance.
