After Eclipse’s castle had its renovations completed I decided to jump back into landscaping and working on new public work projects around Serenity.

I had a number of things on my ‘To Do’ list that I wanted to get done ASAP, the first being Serenity’s official town flag. So, I finally decided to go out of my comfort zone and design Serenity a town flag. I’m not the biggest designer when it comes to Animal Crossing and making patterns but I did like how the Serenity town flag came out, well during daylight hours that is. 😛

I think it looks a bit weird at nighttime? I attempted to do some highlights in the pattern inside the crescent moon and I feel like it appears a bit weird during the dark hours. I might have to do a bit of playing around to see how it turns out. Either that or the shadows around the crescent moon are too dark?

I might play around with it until I like a version of it that looks good in the night lighting.

I also needed to change my town tune as it was some random one from years ago that I didn’t like anymore. At first I changed it to Connect by Claris which is the opening song from the anime Madoka Magica. Puella Magi Madoka ☆ Magica is one of my favourite anime series so it was nice to hear the opening song for a little bit whilst doing errands around Serenity. You can hear it in this clip with Wisp. 🙂

But then I decided to change it to ‘Dearly Beloved’ from Kingdom Hearts. If you know me then you’ll know that I am obsessed with Kingdom Hearts as it’s my favourite video game series of all time. The video game series means a lot to me and has gotten me through some of my darkest times so I wanted to hear it’s jingle as Serenity’s town tune. 🙂

After scrolling a little on Pinterest I saw this pin and felt super inspired to do something similar in Serenity.

My beginning photos whenever starting projects like this are always so chaotic, I like to measure things by digging holes and map things out using designs on the floor. I can’t be the only AC player that plans out projects like this, right? xP

I decided to time travel back into the blooming season for my hydrangea bushes as I was in the middle of July, it made planning out where I wanted each colour to go a LOT easier!

Here’s the outline of all of the bushes added! I love the symmetry it’s super aesthetically pleasing to look at. 🙂

And here’s an almost finished look of the area! I decided to use violets and pink lilies to decorate mostly around this area as it’s a nice break from using purple, pink and blue roses everywhere. :

I’m not sure how I feel regarding the dirt path I used for this area. I kinda like it but at the same time I don’t. I’m not sure if I’ll keep it yet.

Whilst adding trees around this area I spotted a weird glitch with one of the trees I placed down using the RAM save editor.

Maybe the giant oak silk moth was having a bath inside of the pond hehe. 😛

I also came across another darn tarantula again whilst I was working on the town plaza area. I managed to catch it before it got me… However

My 3ds decided to randomly crash after I caught it so I had lost my progress. Not only did I have to redo the entire plaza area all over again but I had LOST that darn tarantula I had just caught. I guess the Tarantula had technically won a second time. But just when all hope was lost…

Whilst redoing my plaza due to my 3ds crashing ANOTHER tarantula had appeared. It scurried down towards retail so I swiftly equipped my net. I was super nervous as I couldn’t see the darn thing and I could hear it hissing at me but regardless I still slowly edged closer towards it and swung my net.

And for the 2nd time today I had caught it! I immediately saved my progress so I wasn’t going to lose my progress and the darn thing another time. 3rd time’s the charm I guess!

Eclipse 1 Tarantula 2. 😉

I have yet to see a scorpion in Serenity. I’ve caught scorpions before but I’ve never caught a tarantula until now so catching two of them today was quite an accomplishment.

Whenever I’ve played AC during the summer months I tend to play the daylight hours to avoid them because they genuinely freak me out, especially when I was a kid. I was always beyond terrified of seeing scorpions and tarantulas in ACWW growing up but I managed to catch the scorpion in ACWW though, just never a tarantula. Maybe I should go back to ACWW for a day and attempt to catch one to complete my museum considering my save file on that game is 20 years old this December. 😛

I also decided to place a stone tablet PWP at the northern east part of Serenity that is isolated and by the northern waterfall cliff side. I like to think of this PWP as a gravestone as we can’t place furniture down outside in this game so it’s the closest we’ve got, I guess. I planted perfect apple trees around to hide the train tracks and for some landscaping.

I think lilies and violets looked the best around his gravestone. The area isn’t finished as I need some more pink lilies. Once I finish decorating this area more I’ll share more photos. 🙂
