At the end of May 2025, the fan-made project Pretendo finally announced that online play for Animal Crossing: New Leaf would be open for the public! Although not all of the online play features are currently available, a large majority of it’s features are finally back including Club Tortimer, the best friend feature and visiting other people’s towns!
I’m quite active in the Animal Crossing: New Leaf subreddit and since online play has returned I’ve been doing my part in the community to try and help out other players in hopes of perhaps maybe making some friends to maybe have daily WiFi sessions with!
For my first WiFi session I actually went to a different town! This was Eclipse’s first time leaving her kingdom for an online WiFi session. 🙂
I arrived at Quinten’s town called The Hex to deliver him some cherries as he had requested some on a reddit post. I gave him a patch of x9 cherries alongside a batch of x9 perfect cherries in case he perhaps needed them for whatever reason. 🙂
We spoke a little about how we were both happy that online play was finally out for public under Pretendo network and how we were both looking forward to the dream suite feature! I left shortly afterwards.
I did a few sessions on Club Tortimer but whenever I go there the WiFi keeps crashing with an error. 😦 I’m not sure why this keeps happening..? I feel pretty anxious when going here – I don’t usually play “online” with other players so I’m usually quiet and I’ve noticed that other people don’t speak when on Club Tortimer so I usually feel a little awkward. xP Maybe I just haven’t found a friendly chatty player on there yet?
Regardless, I’ve ran into a lot of different people with very pretty/cool avatars! 🙂 I find it funny how in the second photo all of us were wearing crowns, well we were until the person changed into the red Pikmin cap haha.
First WiFi Session in The Kingdom of Serenity!
Another person on reddit called Cory had requested some help – they particularly wanted the rare and exclusive 7/11 items so I got the set for them and opened my gates ready for them to come and collect. 🙂
And Cory arrived shortly afterwards, yay! 🙂 They’re the first person over WiFi to visit Serenity!
They decided to walk around Serenity to explore after picking up the requested items – they were super kind and gave me a lot of compliments for the way I had decorated, my villagers and the interiors of the castles of Serenity. 🙂
I showed them down to the beach as they are decorated now and we laid on the sun chairs together! Despite it being eternal darkness in Serenity, it’s still very warm – even without the sun! 🙂
I took them back up towards the train station and quickly showed them the “secret” hidden away grave of King Orion that is accompanied by a lonely bench that overlooks the waterfall and beach.
And then afterwards they decided to go back to their town, I hope they like the 7/11 items that they were after. 🙂
After Cory had left, Flurry had requested that I get some signatures for her from a different town so I revisited Quinten’s town, The Hex from earlier! We had a few hiccups of the WiFi crashing which we suspected was probably Pretendo having a moment but after a few more tries and saves in between, I was successful in getting all 6 signatures, yay! Thank you Quinten for your help with my signatures. 🙂
I then went to Kelsey’s town to deliver the classic furniture, wallpaper and carpet as they had requested it on my reddit post – she was going to originally help me with the signatures but I was able to get them done at Quinten’s town. 🙂
I dropped the furniture down outside the train station and had to leave shortly afterwards as I had stuff to do in real life but they were also super kind! 🙂
Before I left, I wrote a cheeky message on their bulletin board though! 😛
And lastly, I had Koren come over to get a fresh new hairdo from Shampoodle as they don’t have the beauty salon unlocked yet. 🙂
I told Koren they could go and check out the rest of the Main Street shops if they wanted to and they did! Afterwards they asked if they could explore my town so I gave them a grand tour of Serenity. 🙂
Whilst on our way to The White Castle where Princess Estella lives we unfortunately discovered that the flower gardens had been destroyed by Celia’s house plot. xP I only had 9 residents living in Serenity until now, I had no idea that villagers could move into a town via Streetpass using the Happy Home Showcase on Main Street. I don’t have a 10th house location in mind for her right now so until that situation is fixed it looks like her house will be there temporarily.
Anyways, I decided to go inside of the castle with Koren this time and go inside each room with her. 🙂 I’m so proud of Estella’s castle interior so I was so happy to show this off to a person wanting to explore Serenity! 😀
I showed her the royal greenhouse first! This room isn’t finished yet until I manage to get my hands on both the mannequins from the Able Sisters.
We then explored the royal drawing room to the left wing and the royal concert hall which is on the right wing of the castle. 🙂
Koren said that the royal concert hall was her favourite room which was awesome to hear considering it took a very long time to decorate the room with all of the chairs/spotlights refurbished and the long time it took to get it to look the way how I imagined it to! 🙂
Afterwards, I escorted Koren down to the beach to show off the final “house” to explore in Serenity which is Eden Hospice! On the way there we stopped to lay on the sun chairs though.
After exploring the Hospice Koren decided to go back to their town, I really appreciate the kind words when giving them a tour. It was also super fun to give a tour to someone after so long! Thank you for coming over Koren! 🙂
