First off, this is basically a 3-in-1 kit. You get to choose which type of DeLorean time machine you want to build. Each movie from the Back to the Future Trilogy had a different car design, and the instructions and part materials allow you to build any of those three (but you can only build one at a time). The DeLorean from the first movie features the lightning rod and plutonium chamber. The DeLorean from the second movie is upgraded with fold-down hover conversion tires and a Mr Fusion energy reactor. The DeLorean from the third movie has whitewall tires and a hood mounted circuit board.
There are a lot of common unique pieces that you'd expect to find in all three variants of Doc's time machine, like the iconic flux capacitor light brick that actually lights up (battery included), gull-wing doors that open up to reveal a detailed interior, Dr Emmett ‘Doc’ Brown and Marty McFly minifigures that you can only get exclusively from this set, and accessories like Marty's hoverboard and the OUTATIME license plate.
The final build measures 14"x8"x5" and weighs about 4.5 pounds. There are 1,872 pieces to this build, so at the discounted price you're averaging about 9 cents per brick. This is one of the more complex LEGO builds and it's officially recommended for ages 18+, perfect for the adult collector or a joint venture involving you and your kid.
