Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days are happening now. This October 7th and 8th, you can expect to enjoy some deep discounts on a range of items, similar to Prime Day. And if you’ve been in the market for one of the best VR headsets, you can score big savings on a Meta Quest 3S. Best of all, you don’t even need to be a Prime member to enjoy $50 off the headset. That’s the same deal as Prime Day back in July.
The 128GB Meta Quest 3S is now only $249 from $299.99. The Amazon exclusive bundle even comes with $45 worth of in-game credits and cosmetic DLC for Gorilla Tag, one of the most popular games on the platform. You can enjoy the same savings from Best Buy or Target (with a free Circle membership); however, you don’t get the game bundle. Walmart has a similar deal, only it comes with a copy of Batman: Arkham Shadow VR. If you’re after a bit more storage, the 256GB Quest 3S is $70 off, costing just $329.
Save $50 or more on the Meta Quest 3S
Chances are good these savings won’t last long on this awesome budget VR headset, so now is the time to grab the it. It’s priced far lower than almost all the top VR headsets, including Meta’s own Quest 3, but remains a highly capable, stand alone device.
Looking to jump into the world of VR? IGN expert Gabriel Moss had the opportunity to review the Meta Quest 3S, giving it a 9/10 and stating, “The Meta Quest 3S is the perfect entry-level VR headset.” While it may be priced over $250 less than the Meta Quest 3 at the moment, it features the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor and lightweight, comfortable-to-hold Touch Plus controllers. There’s a full-color passthrough mode for some epic AR, and best of all, it can play all your favorite VR titles completely untethered. It’s one of only a select few VR headsets that don’t require a PC or console to function.
The biggest sacrifice when opting for Meta’s cheapest Quest headset is clarity. Using the same Fresnel lenses as the Quest 2, this headset offers a lower resolution and smaller FOV than the Quest 3’s pancake lens. Still, given the power behind the Quest 3S, games play wonderfully with only a small sacrifice to visuals. For casual VR, the 3S is perfect. Considering it costs twice as much, only VR enthusiasts should opt for the Quest 3 over Meta's budget alternative.
