The first ever LEGO Book Nooks were released back in June and this set of bookends fits right in with those. It's one of the most functional LEGO sets I've ever built and I think they work great. I am currently having them hold up my collection of Lord of the Rings books on my shelf and have had no problems whatsoever.
As a LEGO set, I found the bookends themselves to be really fun to build. At 1,327 total pieces the set is split up into what essentially feels like two full LEGO builds in one. You start with the Glinda side and move onto the Elphaba side after that. Each bookend has its own little Easter eggs to discover, as well as six total minifigures from the story. If you want more of an inside look of how it comes together, you can check out the full slideshow of my own build below.
As a fan of Wicked, I also thoroughly enjoyed what this set had to offer in terms of little details and design. Each main character has their own little alcove in which they sit and it's meant to showcase different aspects of their style and personality. It's more than just green and pink, it's Glinda and Elphaba and each set really seems to feel like it accurately represents those characters. The bookends themselves are shaped like books that are quite fun to build and the additional pieces outside of those books feel like separate LEGO sets on their own. Putting together that vase of flowers or the Grimmerie with a hidden compartment on its own was really fun to do – especially while listening to the official soundtrack.
More Wicked LEGO Sets for Adults
Like I mentioned above, there were two new LEGO Wicked sets that were released targeted specifically at adults. In addition to the bookends, there was also the LEGO Wicked Emerald City Wall Art set that was released back in September. This is currently the only other 18+ build in the Wicked line, but it was just as popular as the bookends when it first came out. It isn't currently on sale, but if you're looking for a great gift for the Wicked fan in your life ahead of Wicked: For Good, this is a great option.
