Just one example comes from user msculper titled ‘Perfect Mix of Saturday Night and the Rest of Your Life’, and it’s already received 1,229 hits since being published on February 19.
The story depicts sexual scenes between Samira and Jack, but it also expands on the characters outside of the emergency room, weaving in elements of the show, including the aftermath of the PittFest shooting in Season 1.
But the growing catalogue isn’t limited to Mohabbot ships – fan fiction is used to explore all manner of relationships or other ‘what if’ scenarios that aren’t included in the show.
Another popular subgenre is Dr. Langdon (Patrick Ball) and Dr. Mel (Taylor Dearden). Their relationship on The Pitt is purely platonic, but there’s plenty of fanfic imagining a world where it’s more than that.

Although it was published last month, it was updated just after the release of The Pitt Season 2 Episode 7 – and the story has proven so popular, it’s received a whopping 24,983 hits at the time of writing.
Some fanfic uses entirely different framing. For instance, ‘Crush’ by user BlueberryLily18 reimagines the narrative as if you, the reader, are on your first day of residency at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Centre.
In short, there’s a whole world of stories beyond the confines of the ED.
The Season 2 Episode 7 moment hasn’t just sparked activity on AO3, either. Across Reddit, viewers are zeroing in on the brief exchange between Mohan and Abbot – particularly Robby’s double take when he walks past.
“I laughed so hard at this shot,” wrote one on Reddit, to which another replied, “Just saw this scene and refreshed the sub. Might be the first time the show made me pause because of laughing too hard.”
