The first trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has crash landed and it gives fans a glimpse of some fan-favorite characters in the plumber’s next big adventure.
Chris Pratt returns to voice the iconic hero, alongside Charlie Day as Luigi, after the first film raked in $1.3 billion at the box office back in 2023, and quickly became the highest grossing video game movie of all time. That achievement almost certainly had Nintendo executives screaming “Yahoo!” so it’s no surprise that a sequel was announced shortly after.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie gets its name from the beloved 2007 game (and the various sequels and remakes) which sees the brothers defend the universe from Bowser.
Now, The Super Mario Galaxy movie trailer reveals what to expect from the 2026 movie, including a full look at two favorite characters.
The first trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy movie features Rosalina and Bowser Jr.
The footage starts with the miniaturized Bowser (Jack Black) showing off a painting of himself with Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy).
From there, Peach and Mario dive into a new galaxy, and face off against Bowser Jr. who promises to re-take his father after he was defeated at the end of the first film.
The footage ends with an insanely cool fight with Princess Rosalina, and during the Nintendo Direct stream it was announced that Marvel star Brie Larson is voicing Rosalina, who is nicknamed the “Watcher of the Stars” in the games. Meanwhile Jack Black took the chance to announce that Benny Safdie is voicing Bowser Jr.
