The Witcher Season 4 trailer teases the books’ most shocking moment for Ciri (Freya Allan) in the next chapter of Netflix’s fantasy epic.
The footage shows off Liam Hemsworth stepping into that Henry Cavill-shaped hole following the British actor’s departure following Season 3, and it highlights more of the The Witcher‘s signature brutal action as the fight against Vilgefortz escalates further.
The plot will revolve around Geralt (Hemsworth) recruiting allies to travel across the Continent to rescue Ciri after she finds herself in a desolate desert at the end of Season 3, before meeting a ragtag group of thieves called the Rats and hiding her identity by calling herself “Falka.”
But The Witcher Season 4 trailer suggests things are going to be extremely different for Ciri, and it might even adapt a truly disturbing moment from the books by Andrzej Sapkowski.

She’s shown fighting some thugs alongside the Rats, before an ominous line of dialogue says: “She’s not who she says she is,” implying that someone in the group is suspicious of her.
One of the Rats is a teenager called Kayleigh (Fabian McCallum), and he attempts to assault Ciri during Sapkowski’s second book, The Time of Contempt. Thankfully, a girl called Mistle (Christelle Elwin) stops him, which then quickly leads to a dysfunctional relationship between Ciri and Mistle.
Although it’s not confirmed that the assault will take place in the series, Allan explained in 2024 that Ciri’s story includes a difficult relationship in the upcoming episodes.
“She has her first experience with romance, if you can even call it that, because it’s not a good relationship,” she told Elle. She goes into a very dark part of herself that I think is going to be terrifying to look at.”
