South Park Season 27 Episode 6, ‘Twisted Christian’, was well worth the wait. If you want to catch up with the mayhem but you’re strapped for cash this month, there is a way to watch the new episode for free.

It’s a good time to be a South Park fan. After years of limbo amid the long-running dispute between Warner Bros. and Paramount, Trey Parker and Matt Stone finally signed a five-year deal with the latter studio to produce at least one 10-episode season each year.

South Park Season 27 has been off to a wild start. So far, we’ve had Randy as a ket-sniffing tech bro, Kristi Noem shooting Krypto the dog, and the actual US president Donald Trump impregnating Satan with a “butt baby”.

Episode 6 is no different, with the hit animated series parodying Peter Thiel, the Exorcist, and the nonsensical ‘6-7’ trend. And you can watch it now without spending a dime.

How to watch South Park Season 27 Episode 6 for free

If you don’t have cable or you missed it live, South Park Season 27 Episode 6 is now available for streaming on Paramount Plus – and there are a number of free trials available.

Unlike Netflix, the streaming service offers eligible viewers a seven-day free trial, which you can access if you’re signing up for the first time. This is available for both its premium and essential packages – simply head to this link and add in your details.

Another option is via Walmart Plus. Subscribers of this service can get a 30-day Paramount Plus free trial for the essentials plan, with the option to upgrade.

What’s more, Walmart Plus offers a 30-day free trial too, so you could essentially have access to both for a month without spending a dime.

And if you’re wanting to catch new South Park episodes when they air on Comedy Central but you don’t have cable, there’s a way to do this on a budget too.

All you need to do is sign up for a free trial to a TV service that offers Comedy Central. That includes Philo TV, which has a seven-day free trial for newcomers, and DirectTV, which offers a five-day free trial.

Fubo also offers a short free trial, but it’s worth noting that you can also find deals like the Walmart Plus one.

For instance, My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total subscribers can access a free 30-day trial with Fubo (that’s two episodes of South Park Season 27, depending on when you sign up) – learn more about that deal here

Mobile providers often come with free subscriptions too, so it’s worth checking out your benefits to see if you already have access to Comedy Central or Paramount Plus.

Why everyone’s talking about ‘Twisted Christian’

Ever since its explosive Season 27 premiere, South Park fans have been anticipating each new episode and ‘Twisted Christian’ is no different.

This episode weaves together the ‘6-7’ trend with Peter Thiel’s real-life comments on the Antichrist, which perfectly fits in with Satan and Trump’s “butt baby”. It also takes shots at the new era of Christianity in America, with Jesus finally giving in by becoming a Christian “bro”.

On the show’s subreddit, fans are busy discussing what went down, with one writing, “Jesus giving in to the modern Christian bullsh*t was lowkey sad as f**k,” to which another replied, “That hurt more than Towelie.”

A third added, “First Towlie. Then Jesus. This is so f**king bleak.” And a fourth chimed in, “Not sure how I feel about Jesus giving into the white trash Christian way but I’m hoping he can turn it around.”

Others have pointed out the fact that Episode 6 is the first part of a two-episode saga – a reference to the ‘6-7’ meme. “THE TWO PARTER WILL GO ACROSS THE 6TH AND 7TH EPISODES,” said one.

There are also plenty of posts from viewers over the age of 14 who are confused about the ‘6-7’ reference, but just know that it’s not meant to make sense. And for those who say it’s “cringe”, some have pointed out that South Park has always ripped into internet culture.

One highlighted the 2012 episode ‘Faith Hilling’, which references everything from planking to cat breading.

Another replied, “Literally the episode I think of whenever I see comments like ‘South Park lost ideas because they’re writing about ________’ and it’s like, were ya’ll not there to witness ‘Faith Hilling’?”
