The Pitt Season 2 is clocking in for another 15-hour shift, with the hit medical drama returning to HBO Max this week – and there are a couple of ways to watch the series for free.
After its award-winning debut chapter, it’s no surprise that there’s plenty of anticipation for another trip back to Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. There are a few newcomers this time round, including Dr. Robby’s temporary replacement, Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi.
And if you were worried The Pitt’s debut chapter was a fluke, don’t be – Season 2 has earned another 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. As we said in our five-star review, this is “flawless” TV.
But if you’re struggling this January with too many direct debits, perhaps you don’t want to commit to another monthly bill just to watch it. Thankfully, there is a temporary solution.
How to watch The Pitt Season 2 for free
If you don’t already subscribe to HBO Max, there are still a couple of legitimate ways to stream The Pitt Season 2 without paying up front, the most reliable being with a TV streaming service that includes it as an add-on.
For instance, YouTube TV is currently offering a 21-day free trial for new users, and you can add HBO Max to your membership during that period. That gives you temporary access to the full HBO Max library – including The Pitt – before you need to decide whether to continue with a paid plan.
To do this, go to the YouTube TV homepage and click the “Try 21 days for $0” button. You’ll be asked to sign in to your YouTube account (which probably means just linking your Google account), before being taken to a screen that looks like this:
Next, scroll down until you find the “Add to Membership” section. Find a show that airs on HBO or HBO Max, and from there, it’s pretty simple to add it to your plan in your free trial period.
It’s worth noting that you’ll need to sign up for the YouTube TV trial and add HBO Max to your plan while the trial is active, then make sure to cancel before the trial ends if you don’t want to be charged.
Also, since The Pitt Season 2 is 15 episodes long, you’ll only be able to use this method to either a) watch the first four episodes free or b) wait until the final episodes are and binge-watch the whole lot in one go.
If you go with the first option, just note that YouTube TV will cost you at least $49.99 per month, which goes up to $82.99 after three months, whereas HBO Max starts at just $10.99 per month with ads, so be sure to work out the most cost-effective plan for you.
You may also find third-party promotions and bundle perks that include access. For example, Cricket Wireless customers on the Supreme Unlimited plan are eligible for a free HBO Max Basic with Ads subscription.
