Working never needs to be a chore again, as a new Steam game aims to kick those study session blues by giving players their very own anime girl co-worker.
Chill with You: Lo-Fi Story is a cozy productivity game where you literally sit at a desk with an anime girl while you work. I say game, but there’s no real gameplay – instead, you take a seat at a quiet desk next to Satone, a novelist who works peacefully in the background while you go about your own work-related tasks.
It’s all rather charming and is a must for anyone who spends their days listening to playlists featuring that chill lo-fi crackle. In a sea of idle clicker games and Hatsune Miku-themed desktop pals, Chill with You: Lo-Fi Story aims to help you power through those tedious tasks and even make a virtual friend along the way.
You can now study with your very own Lofi Girl
Just like the Lofi Girl YouTube channel (although not officially associated), the cozy game allows you to bob your head along to some incredibly chill beats. However, unlike the channel that inspired it, Chill with You has various customization options that give players control over ambient sounds and the environment Satone studies in.
So, whether you focus best when it’s raining, are partial to a gentle breeze, or just want to free Satone from the confines of her room, then there are plenty of options to experiment with.
There’s also a built-in timer and task management tool that helps you break up your work/study sessions between work and play. During break time, Satone will also react and talk to you, allowing you to enhance your bond with the virtual anime girl.
The free demo is currently available to download on Steam, with save data carrying over to the full release, so any time you spend relaxing and working with Satone won’t go to waste.
Chill with You: Lo-Fi Story releases November 17 on Steam and includes English text along with Japanese voice acting.
