This OP Black Ops 7 Assault Rifle is perfect Maddox replacement

After dominating Black Ops 7 Season 1, the Maddox RFB has been hit with a big nerf. But don’t worry, there’s another Assault Rifle primed to take its place.

The Season 1 Reloaded update came with a number of weapon balancing changes in Warzone, but the buffs and nerfs for multiplayer were promised to arrive at a later date. Then, on January 13, another patch rolled out, bringing some meta-chaging adjustments to BO7’s guns.

One of the weapons hit hardest was the Maddox RFB, which has comfortably been the best gun since it arrived at the start of the season. To try and make it less effective over long distances, it received massive damage and range nerfs.

This might have left you with a Maddox-shaped hole in your loadouts, given that it was the most-used gun prior to the update. But another Assault Rifle is ready to step up and take over the meta — the AK-27.

AK-27 is Black Ops 7’s best gun after Maddox nerf

Although this classic rifle has been a strong pick in Warzone, it’s been largely outshone in multiplayer due to its slower fire rate. However, with the Maddox out of contention at long range and the M15 Mod 0 being nerfed again, it’s finally getting its time in the sun.

Not only does it have very little recoil when you run the best loadout, but it also has the strongest TTK in the entire category.

Using the CODMunity comparison tool, we found that it kills in just 264ms all the way up to 32 meters. While the Maddox, which is better-suited for short range, has the edge up to 21 meters, the AK-27 is in a class of its own beyond that.

Its closest competitor is the DS20 Mirage, but this is much tougher to use, making it harder to achieve its best TTK consistency. Then, anywhere above 39 meters, the AK once again establishes its dominance, dropping enemies in just 416ms all the way up to 80 meters, which is more than you’ll ever need in multiplayer.
