TikTok announced new AI-powered features and a major revenue update for creators during the U.S. Creator Summit, highlighting the platform’s ongoing investment in supporting creator growth and accessibility.
The new tools, Smart Split and AI Outline, aim to make content creation faster, easier, and more structured, while an updated payout model will increase monthly earnings for eligible creators.
The updates expand TikTok’s broader effort to simplify video production and enhance monetization options on the platform, giving creators more flexibility to produce content and earn income directly from their audiences.
Smart Split, now available globally through TikTok Studio Web, automatically edits longer videos into short-form clips optimized for the platform. It can reframe, caption, and transcribe content over one minute long, allowing creators to break down podcasts, vlogs, or other long-form videos into multiple shareable TikToks. Users can set clip lengths, customize captions, and upload videos directly after processing.
TikTok also introduced AI Outline, an AI-powered assistant that helps structure videos before filming. By entering a prompt or choosing a trending topic from Creator Search Insights, creators receive suggested titles, hooks, hashtags, and a six-part video outline they can adjust to match their own style. AI Outline is currently rolling out to users aged 18 and older in the U.S., Canada, and select markets, with wider availability coming soon.
Increased revenue share for subscriptions
Alongside the AI features, TikTok revealed a new revenue model for its Subscription program. Creators can now earn up to 90% of profits after fees through monthly subscriptions that offer exclusive content and perks to fans.
The base payout gives creators 70% of TikTok’s share, with an additional 20% monthly reward available to those meeting specific requirements, including at least 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in the past month, and three or more subscriber-only videos posted in the same period.
TikTok said the new AI features and subscription changes are part of its continued focus on supporting creators and building tools that make it easier to create, connect, and grow their audiences on the platform.
Twitch launched an AI-powered clipping tool in early October as well, although many have expressed concerns over it creating “AI slop.”
