Connie Francis, the iconic pop singer best known for hits like ‘Who’s Sorry Now’ and the TikTok viral song ‘Pretty Little Baby,’ has died at the age of 87.
The singer found a wave of popularity on TikTok earlier this year, where “Pretty Little Baby” became the soundtrack for over 1.8 million videos.
One viral video with over 100M views shows a two-year-old baby reacting to “his favorite TikTok sound.”
Francis joined the platform in June 2025 to personally thank fans for bringing her 1960s ballad back into the spotlight.
“My thanks to you all for the huge reception you have given to ‘Pretty Little Baby.’ I am delighted to join the TikTok Community and share this moment with you,” she said in a video.
Her video, which quickly went viral and amassed over 16 million views, marked a rare appearance from the star, who had largely stepped back from public life in recent years.
Connie Francis dead at 87
On Thursday, July 17, Francis’ publicist announced that the singer had died at 87 years old.
“It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that I inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night,” Ron Roberts, the president of Concetta Records, a music label owned by Francis and her royalties/copyright manager, wrote on Facebook.
The man didn’t reveal the cause of Connie’s death, but had posted earlier in July about the singer being in the hospital.
He said: “Connie continues to remain under hospital care as she undergoes tests to determine the cause of her discomfort.”
After the news broke, fans flocked to the comments on Francis’ videos to share their condolences for the singer.
“Rest in peace, queen,” one user commented.
Another said: “So glad she got to see her song go viral again after all those years – RIP Connie.”
“She died happy knowing that this generation likes her music,” replied a third. “You will be missed. Thank you for the music.”
