TikTok food reviewer Glamorama has responded to backlash over her now viral drama with the JL Patisserie in Phoenix over a negative review.

Food reviews have long been a popular genre of videos online, but they’ve spiked in popularity again with the rise of TikTok. Many foodies seek out recommendations from the likes of Keith Lee, How Kev Eats, and others before trying a meal themselves.

On October 10, TikTok’s food review scene was set alight after Phoenix-based JL Patisserie responded to a review from Glamorama.

In the review, Glamorama claimed that the bakery used “fake ass ingredients” and claimed that the coffee was “sour and acidic.” She also questioned the price of the food, comparing it to cheaper options from France, ultimately saying she was “super disappointed” by the food.

JL Patisserie hit back at Glamorama’s review

However, the bakery responded to the review, revealing previous messages from Glamorama, who suggested that they do a collaboration.

“We respectfully declined because it was not in our budget right now,” they said. “Then, she essentially tried to blackmail us by saying if we offered the food for free, she would then write a good review about us. I told her we’d think about it but she still came in the next day.

“Although we hadn’t agreed to collab with her, we recognized her when she came in and were still very accommodating and offered her extra drinks. We totally respect a bad review, but what we don’t like is lying and bullying.”

That video, in which the bakery shows off their process and ingredients, has gotten over 54 million views, with plenty of commenters slamming Glamorama.

Glamorama apologizes to JL Patisserie

The TikTok and Instagram food reviewer initially said that she would “quit” reviewing as a result, but deleted that post.

Instead, she responded again on October 12, saying she should have been “more thoughtful” in her wording with the review. She also noted how the prior DMs may have amde her seem “entitled,” but this “was never my mindset.”

“To the bakery, I am sincerely sorry for any harm my words may have caused. I respect the time, effort, and heart that goes into running a small business, and I genuinely wish you nothing but the best moving forward,” Glamorama added.

Keith Lee responds to JL Patisserie’s viral review

Keith Lee, one of TikTok’s most popular food reviewers, commended the bakery’s response. “It was respectful, it was insightful, and it taught me a lot as somebody who does food reviews because I love seeing the behind the scenes of what goes into making art,” he said.

He also said he would review JL Patisserie, if invited, as it looked “amazing.” However, he wants reviewers to be “accountable” and ultimately pay for themselves.

It remains to be seen if Glamorama will return to food reviews, but she has deleted all of her previous videos and locked her other social media accounts.
