Draco Malfoy star Tom Felton is set to reprise his role as the blond-haired Slytherin, but it’s not for the Harry Potter TV show.

It’s all kicking off in the wizarding world right now. Last month, the young cast were announced for HBO’s upcoming series, with newcomers Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout joining the cast as the titular wizard, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley, respectively.

Prior to this, six key cast members were revealed, including John Lithgow as Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Hagrid, and Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall.

Malfoy is yet to be cast, but until then, fans can see Felton as the infamous antagonist – although there’s only one way to catch him.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play adds Tom Felton’s Draco Malfoy

Felton’s reprising his role Draco for the stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Lyric Theatre, London. So, if you’re in the US or outside the UK, it’s going to be one very expensive trip down memory lane.

The actor, who played the character in all eight Harry Potter movies, will appear in the play for a 19-week Broadway run, from November 11, 2025 to 22 March, 2026.

This isn’t his first time on the stage, but it is the first time a star from the original films has joined the cast of the Cursed Child production. If you’re interested in attending, you can sign up for pre-sale tickets here.

In a statement, Felton said, “Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honours of my life. Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this autumn, I’ll also be the exact age Draco is in the play.

“It’s surreal to be stepping back into his shoes – and of course his iconic platinum blond hair – and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world. I look forward to joining this incredible company and being a part of the Broadway community.”
