Twitch has responded after longtime streamers Kalei and StableRonaldo claimed the platform “randomly” took away their 70/30 sub revenue split.

Kalei claimed during a recent stream that she “woke up to an email” informing her that her original esports contract and 70/30 split with the platform had been taken away.

Former FaZe member StableRonaldo shared similar thoughts, claiming the platform “randomly” revoked his 70/30 sub revenue split.

Twitch says historical contracts are still being honored

In a statement on X, Twitch said it is not altering payout structures tied to longstanding agreements.

“We have longstanding agreements with a limited number of streamers who have been with Twitch since its early days,” a Twitch spokesperson said.

“We are honoring these historical contracts, and we are not changing payout structure or requirements to sustain their payout structure with this change.”

Twitch added that the update referenced by Kalei is related to internal systems rather than contract changes.

“Today’s change is a backend technical update to migrate everyone to the same system to help us streamline payouts,” the platform said.

Twitch’s Head of Community, Merry Kish, shared in a post on X that there is “no change” to the contracts and that “payout is the same.”
