100 Thieves streamer BrookeAB has opened up about how her mental health has improved since stepping away from the pressure of maintaining large viewership numbers on Twitch.

In a post on X, the Twitch star said her mental health is “10x better” now that she’s averaging around 100 viewers compared to the thousands she once had.

“My mental health is 10x better with my 100 viewers than it ever was chasing viewership with thousands… unfortunately the gaming space is incredibly hostile these days – I miss 2019 Twitch.”

At her peak, in June 2019, BrookeAB averaged over 7,000 live viewers. In September 2025, that number was 155 average viewers.

“People treat me like sh*t”

Brooke later expanded on her experience, saying that some of the negative treatment she’s faced came after her numbers dropped. “To elaborate and last thing I’ll say; I have had many people treat me like sh*t once my viewers dropped. Brands, friends, streamers, all of the above. You are worth more than your numbers, and those people aren’t worth impressing if they aren’t there for YOU. You are worthy & you got this.”

In another tweet, she added, “I think we’ve lost a lot of authenticity due to people viewing others as just a number, or the next collab, etc.”

Other creators shared similar thoughts. Valorant streamer AverageJonas said, “Same here, just enjoying my corner of the internet with my close community, nothing is more important than happiness.” Twitch partner KittyCatJenna added, “Choose happiness over internet clout. Happiness is invaluable. OG Twitch was much simpler and less commercialized.”
