Twitch streamer Fandy has gone viral after broadcasting the birth of her child live on stream, attracting tens of thousands of viewers, and even a surprise message from Twitch CEO Dan Clancy during the event.
Fandy, who is best known for her World of Warcraft and Just Chatting streams, began the broadcast as she went into labor. The stream attracted almost 30,000 live viewers at its peak, as Fandy delivered her baby via waterbirth.
Throughout the labor, Fandy continued interacting with viewers in the Twitch chat, occasionally speaking between contractions and making jokes to keep spirits high.
“I’ve waited forever for her. Get the hell out already,” she said at one point, as her partner and friends cheered her on.

Clips from the stream quickly began circulating on social media as fans reacted to the event. Many praised Fandy for her openness and willingness to share such a raw and personal experience with her audience.
Others, however, expressed surprise that Twitch allowed a live birth to be broadcast on the platform at all, with some questioning whether the stream fit within the site’s content guidelines.
Confirming there was no issue with it from the platform, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy appeared in the chat to wish Fandy well.
“Fandy, best of luck and congratulations. Wishing you the best in this journey,” Clancy wrote.
Fandy named her baby girl Luna.
The event has also reignited discussion around the boundaries of IRL content and what should or should not be shared live online. Twitch’s Just Chatting category has long blurred the lines between private life and public entertainment, with this being the latest example.
While reactions remain mixed, the stream will likely go down as one of the most unconventional moments in Twitch’s history, standing alongside the platform’s biggest stunts and viral broadcasts.
