Twitch has reinstated the channels of streamers Nina Lin and Zoe Spencer within 48 hours of being suspended. Viewers believe they were initially banned due to a resurfaced stream clip of an interaction with FaZe Silky’s assistant, Said, that viewers described as non-consensual.
The incident stems from a May 2024 stream in which Lin and Spencer were seen restraining Said on a bed as he appeared to try to leave. The clip went viral again in late October 2025, sparking backlash across social media and renewed discussion about how Twitch handles misconduct on its platform.
Both creators were suspended on October 24 after the clip’s resurgence, though Twitch did not confirm the reason for the ban.
The following day, their accounts were restored, first Zoe, followed by Nina. The unbans have prompted criticism from streamers and viewers who said the quick turnaround showed inconsistency in enforcement.
Said speaks out on unbanning
Said himself has described the unbanning as “just unreal.”
Many have compared the short ban period to much longer bans handed out to other streamers. One prominent example being given is the two-year ban of IShowSpeed, due to comments he made to Ash Kash, which Twitch said amounted to “sexual coercion or intimidation.”
On October 24, Nina Lin apologized and acknowledged her role in the incident. “I’m old enough to own up to what I did wrong,” she said. “During the situation, I genuinely 100% thought it was a joke. I thought he was laughing… but yeah, I see, it is wrong. It is really, really wrong, and what we did was wrong. He clearly was uncomfortable with it.”
Zoe Spencer has not made any public comment about the situation. Said, who works as FaZe Silky’s assistant, wrote on X that he was “still going to make a statement later,” but has not followed up yet.
Twitch has not issued any statement addressing either the ban or the decision to lift it. Twitch does not comment on community guidelines violations to protect the privacy of users. Dexerto has reached out to the streaming platform for comment.
