先週の週末、サイクリングをしました。湖で鳥を見ました。鳥の名前は「う」です。

Last weekend, I went cycling. I saw birds at the lake. The name of the bird is ‘u’.

湖にはいろいろな鳥がいました。鴨や、鷺や、白鳥などがいます。海が近いから、鴎もたくさんいました。でも、一番多かったのは、黒い、ペリカンみたいな鳥でした。

There were various birds at the lake. There were ducks, herons, swans, and so on. Since the sea is nearby, there were also many seagulls. But what I saw the most were black birds that looked like pelicans.

近くに鳥の名前とイラストが書いてありました。英語でcormorant。携帯で日本語を調べました。日本語の名前は「鵜」でした。私は初めて鵜を見ました。

There was a notice nearby with the birds' names and illustrations. In English, they're called cormorants. I looked up the Japanese word on my phone. The Japanese name is ‘u.’ It was my first time seeing u.
