Ubisoft is preparing a major expansion of two of its biggest franchises, with multiple Assassin’s Creed titles and two Far Cry games now officially confirmed to be in development.

The update comes directly from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, who outlined the company’s future roadmap and confirmed that both series remain central to Ubisoft’s long-term plans.

In an interview with Variety, Guillemot discussed Ubisoft’s three-year strategy and highlighted Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry as key franchises driving the company forward, promising two Far Cry games, and multiple AC titles ranging from multiplayer to singleplayer adventures.

Ubisoft CEO reveals multiple games currently in development

Speaking to Variety, Guillemot revealed they “have a solid pipeline underway across Vantage Studios. Under the Assassin’s Creed brand, several titles are in development, spanning both single-player and multiplayer experiences, with the ambition to further grow a community that exceeded 30 million players last year.”

He also confirmed that Far Cry is actively progressing with multiple entries in development and added: “On Far Cry, anticipation is high, and we currently have two very promising projects in development.”

Guillemot did not provide specific release windows, settings, or gameplay details for either the upcoming Assassin’s Creed games or the Far Cry titles.

Despite that, we do know of several Assassin’s Creed projects that have already been officially announced by Ubisoft. One is Codename Hexe, which is in development at Ubisoft Montreal and seems to be a darker, more witchy adventure, while Codename Jade, a mobile title set in ancient China, has been revealed but without an official release date.

Lastly, we have Assassin’s Creed Codename Invictus, which has been confirmed as a multiplayer-focused project.

Far Cry’s future has been quieter since the release of Far Cry 6 in October 2021. Ubisoft has not officially revealed any settings, titles, or release timelines for its next Far Cry games. However, Guillemot’s latest comments confirm that two Far Cry projects are currently in development, meaning one’s coming up soon.

Ubisoft has not shared additional details about whether these Far Cry projects are mainline entries, multiplayer experiences, or spin-offs.
