Umamusume: Pretty Derby could soon add one of horse racing’s biggest modern stars, following new comments from the owner of racing champion Forever Young.
The Japanese superstar recently made history by winning the Saudi Cup for a second time, cementing his status as one of the sport’s most dominant active competitors and further raising his international profile.
Speculation about his addition to the franchise has been building for months, especially after Umamusume’s official social media accounts posted a mysterious silhouette teaser showing the date February 24, 2026, which coincides with Forever Young’s birthday and the anniversary of the game’s original launch.
Now, owner Susumu Fujita has directly addressed those expectations.
Forever Young will get the Umamusume treatment
Speaking to horse racing website Idol Horse in the hectic aftermath of Forever Young’s victory in Riyadh, Fujita confirmed that the champion colt will appear in the franchise.
“Forever Young will be in Umamusume soon, I can’t say the exact details, but it’s a huge thing for me personally that Forever Young can contribute to Umamusume.”
Foaled in 2021 and trained by Yoshito Yahagi, Forever Young has quickly emerged as one of Japan’s most successful racehorses. His victories on the global stage, including major wins in Saudi Arabia and the United States, have helped cement Japan’s dominance in international dirt racing.
While Cygames has not formally announced the character, Fujita’s comments strongly suggest Forever Young could soon join Umamusume’s growing roster, marking a rare case of an active global racing star being immortalized in the hit series.
