Umamusume: Pretty Derby fans have gifted Haru Urara a staggering 2,500 kilograms of grass, as international support for Japan’s most beloved underdog racehorse hits new heights.

The viral wave of affection comes thanks to a Japanese vendor that offers a special delivery service allowing overseas fans to send fresh ryegrass directly to Haru Urara’s home. This surge in popularity among Umamusume players is driven by their desire to find tangible ways to support the real-life horses behind their favorite characters.

We previously covered the story on July 10, when the service first gained attention for letting fans send Haru Urara a bundle of fresh grass. Since then, she has received an overwhelming outpouring of support, with total deliveries now surpassing 2.5 metric tons, roughly the weight of a white rhino or two small cars.

Haru Urara’s story has struck a chord with players around the world. In Umamusume: Pretty Derby, she’s portrayed as a cheerful but low-stat character who’s notoriously difficult to win with, a fitting tribute to her real-life 0-for-113 racing record. In a message to fans, the vendor expressed heartfelt appreciation and asked for patience as orders continue to pile up:

“I deeply feel that the love for the future of horses is universal across all countries. We will carefully deliver the sentiments entrusted to us by everyone from around the world,” the translated post reads. 

“We are currently receiving a significant number of orders. Fresh grass is a perishable item. The amount that can be shipped per day varies by ranch, so it is expected that it may take some time to ship the fresh grass ordered.”

To avoid any wastage, the service will ship each order to Haru Urara as and when the farm requires it. This means fans can gift their favorite horse the delicious dinner she deserves, knowing she will get to enjoy it no matter how many orders are placed.
