Valorant’s 12.02 update is here, bringing a buff for Harbor, as well as a nerf for Reyna. So, let’s get into the patch notes.
Riot Games have seriously shaken up the Valorant world in the last year. There have been new agents added in the form of Tejo, Waylay, and Veto, as well as new weapons, and fresh maps to fight on, too.
Additionally, Riot adjusted all pre-existing Agents with class-wide updates to abilities, different tweaks to cooldowns, and price changes. All in all, the meta has been constantly in flux for Valorant players.
Despite all the widespread changes, there have still been plenty of calls for specific updates to different agents, with the most-requested being Harbor. He was reworked in the 11.10 update, with a new ability to boot, but it hasn’t quite worked as planned. So, he’s undergoing another change in 12.02.
Harbor buffed again in 12.02 patch
That’s right, Habor is the main point of Valorant’s 12.02 update, with a new buff to his Cove, High Tide, Storm Surge, and Reckoning abilities.
The Cove shield’s health has been increased, as has the height of the High Tide’s wall, while there is now a sound cue for Storm Surge hitting an enemy. There are cooldown changes for Cove too, as well as a speed change for swapping back to your gun.
On top of that, Reckoning now lasts for seven seconds, and the water rush has increased in speed by 25%.
Reyna nerfed in 12.02
Reyna is also undergoing some changes in 12.02, but it’s nerfs compared to Harbor’s buff. It is now harder to earn the Duelist’s Empress ultimate, as it has increased to a price of seven orbs.

ALL PLATFORMS
- Certain Agent ability deployables can now be concussed: Gekko’s Wingma, Skye’s Seeker, and Raze’s Boom Bot.
Harbor
- Harbor could use a little bit more power compared to other Controllers. We’re looking to increase the baseline power of his abilities as well as increase the amount of options Harbor has whether that is in Cove uptime, High Tide coverage, or Reckoning placement. We want players to feel confident about the strategies Harbor can offer through his abilities.
- Cove

- Reyna has been ever present and dominating pickrates in ranked for a long time. We’re looking to increase proactive requirements on Reyna after she gets a kill to encourage continued aggression.
- Soul Orbs (Passive)
- Duration in world decreased from 4s >> 3s
- *The ability description had incorrectly listed the duration at 3s while they were lasting 4s. The duration now accurately matches the description.

- Healing applied while in Empress is still permanent
- Empress
- Ult points increased 6 >> 7
- Adjusted the appearance of the Social Panel
- UI damage indicators now display for objects that take damage while controlled by a player (i.e. Skye’s Trail Blazer, Tejo’s Stealth Drone, etc)
