Riot Games has revealed Veto as Valorant‘s new Agent 29, showcasing the character’s abilities and more. Here’s everything we know about the Sengalese Sentinel.
Officially announced during the Paris leg of Valorant’s 2025 Championship tour, Riot describes Veto as an agent “empowered by an unstoppable DNA mutation.”
Able to nullify his foes’ own powers, Veto’s kit and game plan are all about disrupting his opponents’ own strategy while also having access to incredible sustain.
Following the addition of custom game mode Skirmish, allowing players to compete against each other in 1v1 and 5v5 formats, Veto is the next major content drop coming to the competitive shooter.

Veto abilities
All four of Veto’s abilities were revealed alongside his character trailer. See below for a description of what each does, as well as a gameplay overview.
Chokehold
- Equip a viscous fragment of your mutation. Fire to throw. The fragment deploys upon impact, creating a trap to hold enemies in place. Held enemies are Deafened and Decayed. Enemies can destroy the trap before activation.
Crosscut
- Equip a vortex. Fire to place on the ground. While in range and looking at the vortex, Reactivate to teleport to the vortex. During the buy phase, the vortex can be reclaimed to be redeployed.
Interceptor
- Equip an Interceptor. Fire to place the Interceptor at projected location. Once placed, Re-use to activate. Once active, it will destroy any utility that would bounce off a player and/or be destroyed naturally be gunfire. Enemies can destroy the Interceptor.
Evolution
- Instantly begin to fully mutate, gaining a combat stim, regeneration, and becoming immune to all forms of debuffs.
