Riot Games have revealed some massive changes coming to the Agents pool in patch 11.08, with every type being tweaked across the board.
The back half of 2025 has been a pretty big period for Valorant. Riot Games celebrated the five-on-five shooter’s fifth anniversary over the summer, moving things over to Unreal Engine 5, and bringing about some big changes to Agents – including the introduction of new ones.
Riot also promised some big changes to things once the VCT season had come to a conclusion at Valorant Champions Paris. Well, now that NRG have been crowned champions, those changes are moving at pace.
Update 11.08 is totally changing how Agents operate across the board, with each class getting an overhaul.
Duelist changes in 11.08
Starting with Duelists, for the most part, they’ll all be seeing a nerf of some variety come in. “We’ve lined up most concuss durations to be 2.5 seconds in this patch. This includes Neon’s relay bolt,” Riot said.
Combat Stims will also be changed, bringing fewer effects to reloading, firing, and drawing, as well as less bullet spread.
There also agent-specific changes too. Yoru’s Gatecrash will now produce a sound upon activation, he’ll only be able to teleport in his Ultimate, and his flash duration time has been lowered.
Neon can run for longer, but her fuel regain is slower, Waylay’s abilities will hinder players for a shorter period, and they’ll also have a smaller area of effect on the Ultimate – same with Iso.
Sentinel changes in 11.08
As for Sentiels, Riot explained: “Some abilities are sneakier than we’d like, so we’re making them easier to spot, bait out, or destroy.” On top of that, “most sentinel cooldowns on signature will be increasing once destroyed.”
Vyse’s Razorvines have seen their health cut in half, while Steel Garden will cover less space and take more time to activate. Her Arc Rose will no longer have a sound when it flashes an enemy.
Deadlock and Sage’s barriers are also seeing their health reduced, however, they will be cheaper to use now, costing 300. The health of Killjoy’s Alarm Bot is also dropping down to 20hp from 50hp.
Cypher’s Trapwires will now only slow players when triggered, with the concussion being removed.
Initiator changes in 11.08
Initiators are now about being more precise when starting attacks. You’ll be able to see more when affected by nearsighted abilities, such as Fade’s Prowlers.
“We want it to be easier for you to translate your muscle memory between different abilities,” Riot said, noting the “standardized” nerf to stuns for non-ultimates.
Additionally, rechargeable abilities for Sova, Kay-O, Fade, and Breach will now have a minute-long cooldown. Geko’s buddies cooldown is now 20 seconds, while Wingman and Thrash’s health will be reduced.
Breach’s ultimate will also be cheaper, down to eight points, but the AOE will be reduced, as will the concussion duration.
Controller changes in 11.08
Controllers will be following the universal changes to nearsight abilities, cooldowns on rechargeable abilities, but Astra and Omen’s smokes will be shorter than the 60 seconds timer of others.
Omen’s Paranoia will now have a smaller AOE, but will travel now at two-meters per second. Viper’s Pit, Paranoia Cloud, and Toxic Screen will now have a smaller decay of health and shields.
On top of all that, Patch 11.08 will be tweaking the layout of some fan-favorite maps, and tweaking bullet spray. It really is a massive overhaul in how Valorant is played.
