Valve has announced three new pieces of hardware: the Steam Machine, the Steam Frame VR headset, and a redesigned Steam Controller.

Since the success of the Steam Deck, fans have been calling for the company to release new devices, especially a next-gen handheld. While that wait continues, Valve surprised players on Wednesday, November 12, with a fresh lineup of hardware.

The new products include the Steam Frame VR headset, an updated Steam Controller, and the revival of the long-dormant Steam Machine, a name that dates back to Valve’s early push into living room gaming PCs.

According to Valve, the new Steam Machine delivers “six times” the power of the Steam Deck, powered by an undisclosed AMD CPU and GPU capable of running games at 4K and 60fps. It will ship in 512GB and 2TB models, both expandable via MicroSD.

The system includes built-in wireless support for the new Steam Controller, a modernized version of the original design featuring dual touchpads positioned beneath the joysticks.

Valve also unveiled the Steam Frame, which is a standalone VR headset that supports the entire Steam library, including both VR and traditional titles. The headset can be used with its own motion controllers or paired with the new Steam Controller.

These mark Valve’s first new devices since the Steam Deck, all running on SteamOS as part of the company’s continued investment in its Linux-based gaming ecosystem.

Pricing and release dates haven’t been announced yet, but all three products are expected to launch in 2026.
