More than two years on from Fast X, Vin Diesel still has big plans for Fast & Furious 11 – and it’ll take fans “somewhere you’ve never been before.”

In 2001, the Fast & Furious franchise started as a stylish Point Break rip-off. Over two decades later, Dom Toretto and his “familia” have dragged safes through the streets of Rio de Janeiro, prevented nuclear war, and flown to space in a car.

Will Fast & Furious 11, the supposed finale of the series, return to its street-racing, NOS-firing roots? Or will Dom pull off another miracle, like time travel or resurrection?

One thing is clear: he wants to make it as soon as possible, and he wants everyone back together again.

Vin Diesel says Fast & Furious 11 will “honor” the franchise

In an Instagram post, Diesel shared a photo of him and Michelle Rodriguez, who’s played his character’s wife Letty since the first film.

“Just wrapped an incredible day filming with my ride-or-die about the future of Fast,” he wrote.

“After all these years, all these miles, the conversation we had today reminded me why this family means everything. [Rodriguez] talked about the journey, from those early days when nobody knew if street racing movies would work, through every twist, every loss, every victory we’ve shared together.

“She’s seen it all. Multiple studio owners, countless executives coming and going, different visions and different voices trying to steer this ship. But through every corporate change, every boardroom shuffle, every new regime, one thing has never wavered… the connection between the Fast family and fans around the world!

“After listening to her, something became crystal clear… she will always be Letty. That authenticity, that connection to something real, it’s bigger than corporate structures and development cycles. It’s what matters most.

“That bond? That’s unbreakable. That’s what transcends business decisions and bottom lines.
For everyone who’s been waiting, for every fan who believes that family is everything, what we’re building next is going to honor all that you love about Fast while taking you somewhere you’ve never been before. Because no matter who’s writing the checks, this family answers to you.”

So, what does Diesel have planned? While appearing at Fuel Fest earlier this year, he laid out three conditions for the finale.

“First… bring the franchise back to L.A.! The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing! The third thing was reuniting Dom and Brian O’Conner,” he said.

Brian, played by Paul Walker (who died in 2013), was last seen in Furious 7. He’s been referenced in later entries but never seen, and it’s widely expected that Fast & Furious 11 will include some sort of digital version of him.
