The Ghoul from Prime Video’s Fallout show is joining Fallout 76 as part of the Burning Springs update. Walton Goggins himself is even voicing this in-game rendition.
Live-action video game adaptations have been hit or miss over the years, but Prime Video’s Fallout has certainly been a smash hit. Season 1 shot up the charts, quickly becoming the streamer’s second most-watched show ever with over 80 million viewers.
Naturally, Season 2 was ordered right away, and now, we’re just weeks out from returning to New Vegas with its December 17 premiere.
Before we get there, however, Bethesda has a surprise. Fallout 76 continues its live-service journey as it heads to the new Burning Springs area in the next major update. Who resides in this area, you ask? None other than The Ghoul.
The Ghoul jumps from Fallout on Prime Video to Fallout 76
Voiced by Walton Goggins, The Ghoul is set to play a key role in the update as he heads up a series of Bounty Hunting missions. You’ll interact with the NPC a great deal as you accept and turn in various bounties.
Should you prove successful in these hunts, you can even earn The Ghoul’s gun directly from the TV series.
Fallout 76 Creative Director Jonathon Rush revealed the dev team was immediately pushing for a collaboration with the show once Season 1 began airing.
“Once we saw how players were reacting to the show, and players who saw the show came to the game, we wanted to start preparing for Season 2 right away,” Rush told Dexerto. “We wanted something big.
“Once we figured out the tone, we started talking to Amazon about potentially bringing The Ghoul in.”
