We finally got our first look at the future of Warzone at CoD Next, but streamers aren’t impressed by the announced changes.

Every year, the release of a new Call of Duty kicks off a new era for Warzone as well. The latest multiplayer integrates with the battle royale, bringing over all of its weapons, Operators, and, usually, some significant changes to the action.

At the CoD Next event, the devs showed off the Haven’s Hollow Resurgence map, and explained a number of tweaks to movement and loadout building. However, there was little else in the way of new content, with the eagerly-awaited return of Blackout not arriving until 2026.

Warzone streamers worried by lack of content

After the stream ended, many Call of Duty content creators took to social media to express their concern about where Warzone is heading.

“From my overall perspective, it’s cool we get a new resurgence map, but lack of major big map changes until 2026, like 7 months away, sounds insane,” posted JGOD. “Avalon is finally coming, but not at all as expected, with a Blackout-inspired mode, with zero clips/trailers to generate hype.”

“[They’re] essentially asking for us to trust that it will be good. Even though the Warzone community doesn’t trust Warzone,” he continued, before adding that it looks “rough” so far.

While others praised the look and flow of Haven’s Hollow, JGOD wasn’t alone in his underwhelmed reaction.

“Warzone is basically dead until Spring 2026, and even the,n we have no idea if this blackout experience will deliver,” said TheTacticalBrit.

“Big map is pretty much the same old Verdansk with some new (but old) POIs,” wrote NICKMERCS while listing a number of issues. “Haven’s Hallow (new small map), is basically old recycled Zombies maps.”

He also questioned the decisions not to incorporate the wall jumping from Black Ops 7 or release the Blackout mode in 2026, calling it a “huge miss.”
