Call of Duty Warzone will have a big change in Black Ops 7 as Tac Sprint as we know it will be removed and become part of the Sprinter perk.

Over the last few years, the movement and speed of players have become a big talking point in Call of Duty. Some fans have been frustrated with the speed boost that certain perks, equipment, and even weapons have given others.

This has prompted a number of changes over the years, including many centred on the ever-controversial Tac Sprint. The feature, which was added back in Modern Warfare (2019), lets players get around the map quicker, even at the cost of slower Aim Down Sight speeds.

It was kept throughout Black Ops 6, however, it has been removed for Black Ops 7 as a standard option. However, it will play some part in Warzone and multiplayer.

Tac Sprinter perk will replace Tac Sprint

That’s right, Tac Sprint won’t be totally non-existent with Black Ops 7 launches. It will, instead of being a normal feature, become a part of the Tac Sprinter perk.

The third slot perk will enable Tac Sprint, but at the cost of reduced normal sprint speed. Think of how Slipstream works in Black Ops 6 and has gone a long way in making the normal Tac Sprint option pretty redundant after a while.

During an exclusive chat with CharlieIntel, the Treyarch developers noted that it was a “very intentional change” to drop Tac Sprint as an option in Black Ops 7.

“With Black Ops 6, we wanted to kind of maintain consistency of what players had been playing for the past several years,” Design Director Matt Scronce said.

“It had been several years since the last Black Ops game. So every game in between that had Tac Sprint. We didn’t want players to feel like we just took something away from them.”
