Warzone is getting a brand-new Field Upgrade in Season 4 that offers extra protection for anyone who likes to camp inside buildings or on rooftops.

The Season 4 update is set to be another huge content drop for Call of Duty. Players can expect new weapons like the LC10 SMG and FFAR 1 Assault Rifle, as well as the return of Grief mode in Zombies.

Warzone is also getting plenty of fresh features, from a brand-new area of Verdansk to explore, to a selection of different modes.

But one addition that’s already catching the eye of players is a Field Upgrade that’s designed to make life easier for campers.

Door Barricade is perfect for camping in Warzone

In the Season 4 blog, it was confirmed that the Door Barricade is being added as part of the update. At launch, it will be available exclusively in Clash mode, before it comes to regular Battle Royale modes mid-season.

As the name suggests, this Field Upgrade can be attached to any door, preventing enemies from opening it until it’s removed. This can be done by the player who placed and their teammates, or by rival teams using explosives, gunfire, or melee weapons.

According to the devs, the feature allows teams to “control access points more easily during mid or close-quarter combat scenarios and delay enemy incursions.”

But as many fans have already pointed out, the Door Barricade seems tailor-made for people to “camp like crazy.” Rooftop campers are a long-running issue on Verdansk, especially considering how strong the HDR sniper is right now, so this Field Upgrade could only make the problem worse.

By preventing enemies from accessing certain doors for a brief time, teams can hunker down on a roof or in a building with less risk. If they use multiple barricades at once, every door into the camping spot will be unavailable, meaning they only need to worry about ziplines or players dropping in overhead.

Even if they can be shot off fairly easily, this will alert teams to which door is being used, giving them precious time to get into cover, set traps, or make a quick escape.
