The roof of Verdansk Stadium is finally set to open again in Warzone Season 5, but this time, you get to do it yourself.

The return of Verdansk in Season 3 breathed new life into Warzone, as fans came flooding back to experience the OG map. However, it wasn’t the version that vanished when Caldera arrived in 2021; instead, it was the launch version from 2020.

This meant that the Train Station was inaccessible, and the iconic Stadium roof remained closed like it was at launch. Now, in Season 5, it’s finally opening again with a new twist.

Stadium roof opens again in Season 5

Whereas the first time around the roof was caved in from the outside, this time around it’s going to be blown off by a…laser fired into space? This was revealed in the Season 5 blog, which shows a screenshot of a bright red beam bursting out of the structure and into the sky.

What’s more, it appears that players will be able to trigger the event in matches through a new Contract. “Breach the stadium in possibly the most impressively explosive way possible as you and other enemy squads race to complete the multi-step Satellite Hijack Contract,” reads the blog.

This Contract will only be available for the week of Season 5, which goes live on August 7, after which the roof will remain open and the interior will be fully accessible.

Once this happens, a new limited-time mode will be released called Stadium Resurgence, which uses the same format as regular Resurgence but takes place solely in and around the venue.
