A new trailer for Wednesday Season 2 has dropped, and features the apparent death of a major character.

Tim Burton’s big-budget reboot of Wednesday has proved to be one of Netflix‘s biggest hits, so it’s no surprise that the show is returning for Season 2 this year.

The first four episodes will stream from August 6, 2025, while the final four will be available on September 4, 2025.

An official synopsis states that this time out, “Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem.” While thanks to the new footage, we know that a beloved character is being bumped off.

Enid dies in Wednesday Season 2, kind of

Enid Sinclair was Wednesday Addams’ roommate in Season 1, and while they initially clashed, the mismatched duo ultimately found common ground and became friends.

So it comes as something of a shock that Enid dies in Wednesday Season 2. Via what’s probably a premonition, we see her gravestone during the new trailer, which reads “In memory of Enid Sinclair. Beloved daughter and sister.”

While when Morticia asks her daughter why she’s crying, Wednesday says: “Enid dies, and it’s all my fault.” Then Enid herself appears in ghostly form, grabbing Wednesday around the neck and screaming, “I die because of you.”

But all is not lost, with Morticia looking at a sketch of dead Enid, and stating, “I will not let history repeat itself.”

Wednesday herself says that “the sooner I get answers, the sooner I can save Enid,” suggesting that Season 2 will revolve around the Addams Family trying to prevent Sinclair’s demise. Meaning her death isn’t set in stone.

As for what else might be afoot, showrunners Miles Millar says: “Nothing is what it seems in Season 2. Wednesday goes into this season thinking she knows Nevermore. It’s the first time she’s returned to a school willingly.

“But as soon as she gets back, nothing happens that she’s expecting. She thinks she’s going to be in control, that she knows where all the bodies are buried, and she doesn’t.”
