The Far Lands are a mysterious location in Minecraft, requiring dedication, time, and a certain version of the game to reach. So, if you want to see it for yourself, you’ll need to know how to get there.
Minecraft may seem pretty simplistic on the surface, with various adorable mobs, blocks to build houses, and simple biomes to explore. However, there’s so much more to the game once you uncover some of its secrets.
One such secret is the Far Lands, a mysterious location that requires tons of time, a lot of exploration, and plenty of know-how to access. Well, one player, after 14 years, has finally reached it, which has led to many looking to do the same. Here’s how to do it and everything you need to know.
What are the Far Lands?
The Far Lands is a region in Minecraft that’s caused by an anomaly in the game’s procedurally generated world. When you get to a certain point in your game, that world will struggle to generate quickly enough, and will therefore spawn in a giant wall of mismatched terrain.
Then we have the Further Lands, the Corner Far Lands, and the Edge Far Lands. The latter two are what happens if you delve deeper into the Far Lands by breaking through the blocks forming the wall. The Further Lands is what happens after that, which looks like a lot of sky blocks and holes in the ground.
How to get there
It’s worth noting that this is purely an anomaly, so it’s a bug that’s been fixed and is therefore no longer available to find in modern versions of Minecraft.
So, if you want to get to the Far Lands in Minecraft, you need to do the following:
- Play Bedrock Edition in its current state.
- Play Minecraft in an edition earlier than 1.8.
- Walk roughly 12,550,821 blocks from spawn.
Alternatively, there are a few tricks to get there quicker:
- Teleport using – /tp (player name) 12550700 90 0 then exit before you hit the ground and load the game in beta 1.7.3
- Go via the nether. One block is equal to eight in the overworld.
If you want to do it without any help, all you need to do is walk, just like the few who have gotten there. This will take a long time and is hard to do without mods or commands, but it’s far from impossible with the right dedication.
