Stranger Things is over now, but that isn’t the end for the show’s young cast, so here’s what the main players are doing next…
When Stranger Things launched on Netflix in 2016, Winona Ryder was the best-known member of the cast, David Harbour was a jobbing character actor, and the children were pretty much unknowns.
Now the Stranger Things ensemble are household names, with the likes of Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, and Joe Keery starring in blockbuster movies and TV shows.
So here’s what the Stranger Things kids are doing now that they’ve gown up, and left Hawkins and the Upside Down behind.
Millie Bobby Brown
Stranger Things character: Eleven
Next project: Enola Holmes 3
While making Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown spent her spare time appearing in a pair of Godzilla movies, while she also remained part of the Netflix family, starring in Damsel, The Electric State, and period adventure movies Enola Holmes, and Enola Holmes 2.
Next up is Enola Holmes 3, which is currently in post-production, and should hit the streamer later this year.
Finn Wolfhard
Stranger Things character: Mike
Next project: Crash Land
While making Stranger Things, Finn Wolfhard stuck with horror, playing Trevor Spengler in Ghostubsters: Afterlife, and Richie Tozer in the It movies.
But he’s moving away from genre fare in 2026, with Wolfhard currently shooting a small-town coming-of-age movie called Crash Land.
Gaten Matarazzo
Stranger Things character: Dustin
Next project: The Untitled BriTANick Pizza Movie
Gaten Matazarro has done lots of voice work alongside the Stranger Things gig, lending his vocals to the likes of The Angry Birds Movie 2, Lego Star Wars, and Animal Farm.
Next up, he’s appearing opposite Sarah Sherman and Lulu Wilson in The Untitled BriTANick Pizza Movie, about college students embarking on an epic journey to retrieve their pizza.
Noah Schnapp
Stranger Things character: Will
Next project: N/A
Noah Schnapp voiced Charlie Brown in the Peanuts movie and game, while during a Stranger Things hiatus, he played Tommy in Adam Sandler comedy Hubie Halloween. Schnapp doesn’t currently have any upcoming credits.
Caleb McLaughlin
Stranger Things character: Lucas
Next project: GOAT
While playing Lucas in Stranger Things, Caleb McLaughlin starred in the likes of High Flying Bird, Concrete Cowboy, and The Book of Clarence.
His next movie is animated sports flick GOAT, about a small animal with big sporting ambitions in the world of ‘roarball.’
Sadie Sink

Next project: Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Sadie Sink has had a pretty impressive film career thus far, with roles in the Fear Street trilogy, Dear Zoe, and A Sacrifice, as well as an acclaimed turn in The Whale.
But she’ll be going stratasphoric in 2026, thanks to an as-yet-undisclosed role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, that’s rumored to be a villain, and could spin-off into future Marvel movie appearances.
Charlie Heaton
Stranger Things character: Jonathan
Next project: Industry
In between Stranger Things seasons, Charlie Heaton starred in troubled superhero movie The New Mutants, and critical darling The Souvenir: Part II.
Since wrapping the Netflix series, Heaton has joined the cast of HBO hit Industry, playing ‘Jim Dycker’ in Season 4, while he also has romantic drama Twice Over in the can.
Natalia Dyer
Stranger Things character: Nancy
Next project: N/A
Natalia Dyer appeared in much videos, TV shows, and movies while making Stranger Things, with her biggest small screen credit being a role in Based on a True Story, and her most notable movie the Dan Girloy art satire Velvet Buzzsaw. She doesn’t currently have any upcoming projects listed on iMDB.
Joe Keery
Stranger Things character: Steve
Next project: Cold Storage
Jo Keery memorably played ‘Gator Tillman’ in Season 5 of Fargo, while he also starred in the movies Spree and Free Guy.
He’ll next be seen in horror feature Cold Storage, opposite Liam Neeson and Georgina Campbell, while Keery can also be caught onstage, as frontman for the band Post Animal.
Maya Hawke
Stranger Things character: Robin
Next project: The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping
Maya Hawke starred in Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in 2019, acclaimed horror-comedy Do Revenge in 2022, and Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City in 2023, while she also voiced ‘Anxiety’ in Inside Out 2.
2026 is set to be a big year for the actress, with Hawke portraying Wiress in the new Hunger Games movie, and appearing in indie movies Wishful Thinking and One Night Only.
