A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is drawing to a close, so here’s details of when you can watch the climactic Episode 6, plus a recap of what happened in the action-packed Episode 5.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms kicked off with Hedge Knight Ser Duncan the Tall agreeing to let a boy called Egg be his squire.

The mismatched duo travelled to the Ashford tourney, where trouble found them at every turn, and Dunk ended up fighting for his life in the Trial of Seven.

The knight narrowly survived that ordeal, but others did not, and the fallout from said battle provides the backbone for the sixth and final episode

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms continues via Episode 6 on HBO Max on February 22, 2026, at 7pm ET/10pm PT.

The show can be viewed on Sky or Now TV in the UK, while for other territories, there’s a sneaky way to watch: by using a VPN. You’ll still need a subscription to the streaming service, but you can do this by using a gift card to pay for it or via on-demand platforms such as Amazon Prime.

What happened in Episode 5?

Episode 5 plays out over two time-lines – in the present, where the Trial of Seven is fought, and in the past, where we learn an important and tragic part of Duncan’s back-story.

The flashback starts with young Dunk plundering dead soldiers for their silver, so he and his beloved Rafe can sail away from the squalor of Flea Bottom and towards the Free Cities.

They learn that the price of passage has doubled however, before City Watchman Alester steals their money. In return, Rafe steals his dagger, but he quickly clocks its absence, corners her, and slits her throat, killing Rafe.

Dunk attacks Alester, and is saved from certain death by Ser Arlan. Having cried over Rafe’s lifeless body, young Duncan secretly follows Arlan out of town, and when the knight finally clocks him, Arlan orders Dunk to “get up.”

The present-day action kicks off at the start of the Trial of Seven, where Dunk’s team is advised to not panic, and not die.

Via amazing footage filmed by “helmet-cam” we get up close and personal with the warriors, feeling every blow as Aerion knocks Dunk off his horse, and renders him seemingly unconscious.

Aerion declares Duncan dead, but Eggs screams of encouragement – as well as Arlan’s ghostly “get up” – awaken him. Dunk then stands and batters Aerion with his shield until the prince yields, and withdraws his accusation.

A battered, bruised, but victorious Dunk pledges his sword to Baelor, but disaster strikes when the prince’s helmet is removed, and the back of his head is missing.

That injury kills Baelor, and the episode ends with Dunk crying over the body of another dread friend.
