With Episode 3 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms set to give us more insight into the show’s villain, here’s when you can watch those events unfold.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a very different Westeros story, being smaller and self-contained than what’s come before, and focussing on just two lead characters; a Hedge Knight called Ser Duncan the Tall, and his young squire Egg.

Events play out out between the events of House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones, and revolve around Dunk’s efforts to be taken seriously as a knight, by competing in a tournament as Ashford Meadow.

Episode 1 dropped to much acclaim, while you can scroll down for a recap of Episode 2, plus details of the full release schedule moving forward.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms continues via Episode 3 on HBO Max on February 1, 2026, at 7pm ET/10pm PT.

The show can be watched on Sky or Now TV in the UK, while for other territories, there’s a sneaky way to watch: by using a VPN. You’ll still need a subscription to the streaming service, but you can do this by using a gift card to pay for it or via on-demand platforms such as Amazon Prime.

What happened in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 2?

Episode 2 sees Dunk finally being accepted into the tournament, preparing for battle by pulling his equipment together, and seeing how violent a joust gets.

Proceedings commence with Dunk describing his mentor Ser Arlan of Pennytree’s positive attributes, though the images we see onscreen are at odds with what’s described.

Targaryen princes Baelor, Maekar, and Aerion arrive to appear in the tourney, and Baelor vouches for Dunk so that he too can compete, though orders the knight to create his own coat of arms. Something that he awkwardly asks Tanelle to paint.

Dunk also sells a beloved horse to buy armour, and gets roped into some tug-of-war by Lord Lyonel Tyrrel, a match that the pair of them win.

The games begin, and the speed and brutality of the first joust is terrifying, and only serves to further dent Dunk’s confidence, fearing that if Arlan achieved nothing in life, he would suffer the same fate.

But Dunk also acknowledges the fact that his mentor raised him to be a moral man, and “on the morrow, we will see what his hands wrought.”
