What happened at the end of Hijack Season 1?
At the end of Hijack Season 1, corporate business negotiator Sam Nelson (Idris Elba) helped to safely land the hijacked plane and save the kidnapped passengers.
As Hijack reached its climax, Flight KA29 prepared for a catastrophic landing as authorities realized the hijacking was part of a much larger conspiracy involving organized crime and political leverage.
In the air, Sam assisted in avoiding crashing into central London, and while running out of fuel, the plane safely landed at RAF Northolt.
Meanwhile on the ground, British intelligence was racing to uncover who was pulling the strings. The finale revealed that the hijacking was never about ransom, and rather about manipulating the justice system to free criminals
And while the lead terrorists were either killed or arrested in the final few scenes, their puppet-masters remained at large.
What to expect from Season 2
Here’s the official synopsis for Hijack Season 2: “In the thrilling second season of Hijack, a Berlin underground train and its commuters are taken hostage, while authorities scramble to save hundreds of lives. Sam Nelson is at the heart of the crisis on board, where one wrong decision could spell disaster.”
Early footage suggests that Sam might be doing the hijacking on this occasion, but it remains to be seen if he’s taking the train hostage for justice or revenge, or if the criminal network has got to him, and there’s something more sinister at play.
